To Live With Various Species of Parrots

The parrot being a gregarious animal, it is certainly a good idea to get a friend for your bird. But do remember that this gregariousness often manifests itself quite differently depending on the species (and they are many available on the market). In most cases, parrots enjoy living with a feathered congener and this is very normal, but not all of them will be willing to accept any specie of parrot as a life companion. Yes, you can diversify your group of parrots, but it can be hazardous to mix together any family of psittacines.

The sexual instinct
The first thing to know about this (immutable) sexual instinct is that the parrot is a monogamous animal throughout the year, not just during the breeding season. The parrot will only have during his life one sexual partner, unless, of course, he loses this partner.
